About Block Prints
Block prints (also called linoprints) are essentially large stamps. First, I plan out the image onto the vinyl block - this requires extensive arranging in Illustrator or Procreate. Then I reverse the image, print it, and transfer it onto the block. There are many hacky methods of how to transfer onto the block, and I can't quite say I go the same route every time. Once the image is traced onto the block, I then carve out the negative space. Next comes printing! To make the prints, I hand roll paint onto the block and then press the paper on top it, transferring the image to the paper. Rarely does it ever come out perfect the first time :)
